'Save Open Space' celebrates 30 years in Chesco

Since the county first borrowed the $50 million in open space funds, 505 farms have been saved through easements which forbid their development in exchange for a cash payment of the land’s worth. Also, 395 municipal projects have been completed, opening up land to local recreation, and 204 conservancy grants awarded, preserving valuable tracts owned privately, have been completed, a total of 1,104 total parcels of land saved from future development.
