Chairman Brion Calls for Support of Gerlach in the 6th

Chairman Brion Supports Gerlach for Congress, Urges Committee Members to Do the Same

WEST CHESTER – Joseph “Skip” Brion, Chairman of the Republican Committee of Chester County, is proud to once again support Jim Gerlach for Congress and encourages Chester County Republican Committee members to endorse Congressman Gerlach this Saturday at the Chester County Republican Convention. The announcement by Chairman Brion comes on the heels of Congressman Jim Gerlach’s recent success at the county’s Republican straw votes. He now enjoys a commanding lead over his potential Republican opponent.

In addressing his choice for Congress in the Sixth Congressional District, Chairman Brion said, “Jim Gerlach has served Chester County with distinction throughout his career. As ‘Our Congressman’ since 2002, Jim has proven his commitment to the families, taxpayers and seniors in the 6th District.
He has amassed a strong record of fighting for jobs, lower taxes and fiscal responsibility, and we can count on Congressman Gerlach to help stop the reckless spending and borrowing going on in Washington.”

Chairman Brion is not the only Republican Party leader to support Congressman Gerlach. All seven members of Pennsylvania’s Republican Congressional Delegation and Montgomery County Republican Committee Chairman Bob Kerns have also announced their support of his reelection.

Additionally, in a survey conducted last week by Wilson Research, a nationally recognized Republican survey research firm, Congressman Gerlach has a 65 percent lead over his potential Republican opponent. Reinforcing the overwhelming support for his re-election, in the last three weeks alone, Congressman Jim Gerlach has secured financial commitments in excess of $525,000.

“Congressman Gerlach is without a doubt the best candidate to win the Republican Primary this May and he is our best candidate who can keep the 6th Congressional District in Republican hands in November. In 2008, Congressman Gerlach won the district by almost 15,000 votes, despite the fact that Barack Obama carried it by 60,000 votes,” said Chairman Brion.

“For the future of our country, our state and our county, we need a Republican like Jim Gerlach to win this seat, and I am asking the Chester County Republican Committee members to endorse Jim Gerlach for Congress,” concluded Chairman Brion.
