Toomey with double-digit leads over Dems
Republican Senate candidate Pat Toomey continues to sport big advantages over both his potential Democratic rivals, according to a new poll.
The Rasmussen survey released Wednesday showed Toomey beating Senator Arlen Specter by 10 points, 50 percent to 40 percent. Toomey would also top Congressman Joe Sestak (D-11), 47 percent to 36 percent, according to the poll. Six percent of voters are still undecided in the Toomey-Specter race, compared to 12 percent on the fence in the Toomey-Sestak matchup.
Toomey has led in almost every public poll for the last several months, reflecting widespread anti-Democratic sentiment among likely voters. The former congressman’s margin is largely unchanged in two months of Rasmussen polling.
Fifty-four percent of likely voters view Specter unfavorably, compared to to 42 percent who view him favorably, according to the poll.
The survey of 1,000 likely voters had a margin of error of 3 percent.
