RCCC Raises 125k at Fall Reception

Republican Committee of Chester County

raises more than $125,000 at Fall Dinner

Judge Paula Ott and other state-wide candidates attend

 

          WEST CHESTER _ Almost 300 people attended the Fall Fundraising Dinner of the Republican Committee of Chester County on Monday night and more than $125,000 was raised for the Republican Party.

 

            “We had a great turnout to meet our excellent candidates running in the November election,” said Skip Brion, Chairman of the Republican Committee of Chester County. “We have strong candidates running for offices in Chester County and in Pennsylvania.”

 

            Chester County Common Please President Judge Paula Ott, who is running for a seat on the Pennsylvania Superior Court, gave a speech at the event as did Judge Joan Orie Melvin, who is running for a position on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

 

            Besides Judge Ott, Judge Judy Olson, Sally Updyke Mundy and Temp Smith are running for the Superior Court. Judge Olson and Mundy attended the dinner along with Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court candidate Kevin Brobson. Brobson is running with Patricia McCullough for seats on the Commonwealth Court.

 

            Two of the Republican candidates for Chester County Row offices, incumbent Controller Val DiGiorigio and Treasurer candidate Ann Duke gave speeches. Candidates Frank McElwaine for Clerk of Courts, Mimi Sack for Jury Commissioner also attended.

 

            Featured speaker was former Congressman Patrick Toomey who is seeking a U.S. Senate seat in the 2010 election. Congressman Joseph Pitts, Pennsylvania Republican Chairman Rob Gleason and National Republican Committee member Bob Asher also spoke to the crowd.

 

            The event was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, King of Prussia.
