Pat Toomey, Tom Corbett and Jim Cawley are the most qualified candidates to lead our Commonwealth
Subject: 2010 Primary Election
Dear State Party Member,
Despite the incredible opportunity presented to the Republican Party in 2010, I am disheartened to witness the malicious and unfounded attacks being levied against our endorsed ticket. Such misleading and destructive statements are reprehensible and demonstrate the tactics of candidates afraid to stand on the merits of their own record.
I believe this type of negative campaigning ultimately undermines the ability of our Republican candidates to secure significant victories this fall. Remember, each advertisement criticizing our endorsed team only serves to embolden our Democratic opposition.
Please allow me to take a moment to set the record straight:
- Jim Cawley is a conservative Republican who has served as statewide chairman of the College Republicans and Young Republicans and previously represented Bucks County as a member of the PA GOP.
- Jim Cawley is a veteran of the annual March for Life and is unabashedly pro-life. He has never defended Planned Parenthood.
- As a county commissioner, Jim delivered four consecutive budgets without property tax increases despite difficult economic conditions. He also led the county to its highest bond rating in history during his term as Chairman.
As a State Party member, I request that you assist me by focusing attention on our true opponents in 2010—the Democratic Party.
It is my firm conviction that Pat Toomey, Tom Corbett and Jim Cawley are the most qualified candidates to lead our Commonwealth. True representatives of our conservative philosophy, I am confident these incredible candidates will restore fiscal discipline, accountability and public trust in government.
Together, we must unite behind this outstanding ticket to ensure that on November 2nd we are celebrating a new chapter in Pennsylvania history.
Please accept my warmest thanks for all of your efforts on behalf of the Republican Party. We must continue to work together to ensure we are victorious this November.
Sincerely,
Rob Gleason Chairman Republican Party of Pennsylvania
