holds endorsement convention for 2010
WEST CHESTER _ The Republican Committee of Chester County held its endorsement convention on Saturday in Kennett Square and endorsed or recommended candidates for national and state races.
“We had a lively convention with excellent candidates being endorse for offices this year,” said Skip Brion, Chairman of the Republican Committee. “All of the candidates are dedicated to providing the best government possible to the citizens of Chester County.”
The Republican Committee is backing the State Committee endorsement of Attorney General Tom Corbett for Governor and Jim Cawley of Bucks County for Lieutenant Governor. Cawley spoke to the convention, as did Congressman Joe Pitts. Pitts, 16th District, Congressman Jim Gerlach, 6th District, and Pat Meehan, 7th District, were all endorsed by the committee. The endorsed candidate for U.S. Senate is Pat Toomey, and the Republican Committee of Chester County will also support this endorsement made by the PA GOP earlier this month.
State Senate candidates receiving endorsements were Ted Erickson, 26th District, Michael Brubaker, 36th District, John Rafferty, 44th District, and Mike Folmer, 48th District.
Receiving endorsements for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives were John Lawrence, 13th District, Tim Hennessey, 26th District, Curt Schroder, 155th District, Chris Ross, 158th District, Stephen Barrar, 160th District, Duane Milne, 167th District and Tom Killion, 168th District.
Two state House races ended with recommended candidates. In the 156th District, Drae McComas and Dan Truitt were recommended. In the 157th District, Kendrick Buckwalter and Warren Kampf were recommended.
