PEG PAC ENDORSES DAN TRUITT IN 156TH HOUSE DISTRICT

(Harrisburg)  PEG PAC, the affiliated political action committee of the Pennsylvania Business Council (PBC), today announced its endorsement of Dan Truitt in the open seat election in the 156th House District.  The Chester County seat is open due to the retirement of Representative Barbara McIlvaine-Smith.

“As a business owner for the last eleven years, Dan Truitt knows first-hand the challenges facing the Pennsylvania business community.  If elected, Dan will work hard to enact legislation that makes Pennsylvania a more competitive state,” said David W. Patti, President & CEO of the PBC.

According to Patti, Truitt supports lowering the corporate net income tax rate, finishing the promised phase-out of the Capital Stock and Franchise Taxes, placing caps on non-economic damages, and enacting the Fair Share Act.  In looking to find new ways to fund transportation, Truitt is supportive of the concept of public-private partnerships (P3s).  He is running on a platform of economic growth and job creation, less spending, and government reform.

Dan Truitt strongly believes that in order for Pennsylvania to prosper going forward, the state needs to have a diverse economy with numerous industries, including a strong manufacturing sector.  He believes that the manufacturing sector provides good paying, family sustaining jobs and that a strong manufacturing sector leads to additional jobs in the service sector and other sectors of the economy.  Truitt believes that government should not make economic development decisions that create winners and losers but should instead enact policies that make Pennsylvania a more competitive state for all companies.

“Dan Truitt has been on the front lines dealing with government bureaucracy and red tape as a small business owner.  He understands the hurdles businesses face day in and day out to remain viable and he supports an agenda, that if enacted, will encourage businesses to invest and create jobs in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  PEG PAC is pleased to support Dan Truitt’s candidacy for the state House,” concluded Patti.

PEG PAC seeks to elect candidates for office who offer the best capacity to create and sustain a better Pennsylvania.  PEG PAC supports candidates who are best for the business community without regard to political party membership.  PEG PAC supports candidates for office with financial contributions, campaign consulting, and grassroots action.
