HARRISBURG – Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason is joining both Republicans and Democrats in opposing the latest trillion dollar government-run health care plan proposed by Democrat Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus.
“The Baucus Health Care Plan is another big-government health care plan that will plunge our country further into debt and raise our taxes,” Gleason said. “Judging by this legislation, Democrats who support this plan have completely lost their minds. How else can you explain why President Obama and Congressional Democrats continue to propose trillion dollar spending bills and higher taxes on the middle class during the worst economic crisis since The Great Depression?
“The BaucusCare bill is more of the same government-run, taxpayer-funded health care plan that Americans have already soundly rejected. The Democrats continue to talk about how a government-run health care plan will increase the number of Americans that are covered and improve their coverage; however, they never detail how they intend to pay for these plans. Americans are smart enough to understand that you can’t get something for nothing and that this plan will require tax increases or will plunge our country further into massive debt.”
